Rogativa of San Emigdio

On March 21, 1829, in the early hours of the night, an earthquake caused many victims and ravaged several villages adjacent to Catral: Almoradí, Benejúzar, Torrevieja, Guardamar, etc., without anything unpleasant happening here.

Thanksgiving for this, every year, in the afternoon, at the same time that the earthquake took place, a public rogative is made.

The images of San Emigdio, Santo Crisito de la Salud and the Virgen de la Soledad come out in procession. A group of singers accompanied by local musicians sing the Holy God and the Litanies of the Saints.
